The Queen of Halloween: DANI

Anyone who has been riding here at GritCycle for awhile knows that we all take Halloween very, very seriously. We love to dress up, be crazy, and celebrate with the best of ’em. Of everyone we know though, no one does it better than our October Instructor of the Month, Dani!

Every year, staff and clients alike can’t wait to see what this vixen comes up with. Trained as a professional make-up artist and with a collection of to-die-for wigs, she always hits us with some of the most original costumes in the game. We asked her to share some of her all-time favorite Halloween looks. You can start ooohing and aaahing now:

Jareth the Goblin King. My all-time favorite movie is Labyrinth. I grew up listening to his music (my parents ROCK!) and immediately fell in love with David Bowie. I had the wig and the necklace custom made, the mask is from our travels to Venice, Italy, and the child…..well….I borrowed him for 13 hours.

Slash and Axl Rose. Probably one of my more low key costumes – but comfortable and really easy to put together. This was a little more last minute than usual but I think we rocked it 😉

Joker and Harvey Dent aka Two-Face. I have been really into experimenting with special FX makeup lately – the bloodier the better. I think I left our bathroom looking like a crime scene after this one, but what can I say? I like to get into character.

And of course – my kiddos! Verona the Butterfly, Ouzo the Bat, and Duke the Devil.

Damn, is it Halloween yet? We’re so excited to see what you come up with next, Dani! Until then, book your bikes to ride with this babe for only $15 on the following days:

Friday 10/13 at 9:30 am
Wednesday 10/18 at 9:30 am
Thursday 10/26 at 5:45 am

Speaking of costumes….we’re having a COSTUME CONTEST at both studios! Show up decked out in your Halloween duds on October 31st because the top three costumes of the day win five classes each! Take a cue from Dani and bring your A-game! We’ll have so much fun, it’s scary.

Cheers!
