Costa Mesa April Instructor of the Month: Allie Brown

Spring has sprung-especially in the Saddle Room.

What better way to celebrate this energetic and sweet season than with our own fresh and beautiful Allie Brown!

Allie has been winning our hearts and bodies with her dope playlists and invigorating early morning classes. We are hippity-hoppity happy to announce her as our Instructor of the Month for April at our Costa Mesa studio.

A busy graduate student, who works non-stop, Allie was generous with her time and stopped by The Outpost to let us get to know her beyond the podium.

What was your first experience in the saddle room?

A Matt Bourne class! It was hot, loud, and sweaty. The energy was incredible and it gave me goose-bumps. I had talked to Matt after class and told him I was VERY interested in becoming an instructor at Grit Cycle. Grit was exactly what I was searching for!

Do you have any pre-class rituals?

I listen to my playlist while I am getting ready for class and on my way over to the studio. Coming from Long Beach, I can listen to most of my playlist. I make sure I know the transitions and cueing, especially for the new songs! When I am at the studio, I listen to a couple of songs while I set up my bike, spray myself & my surroundings with Zum Mist, and chat with the gritty babes.

What’s your favorite “move” on the bike and why?

A quick jog with an oblique crunch because it usually involves some E-40.

What is your favorite song to teach?

Anything Justin Bieber. “Let Me Love You” and “Sorry” are some of my favorites.

Who is your celebrity crush?

Rihanna

What song instantly gets you dancing?

The list is too long! But in the Saddle Room, Sorry by Justin Bieber and Fade by Kanye West.

What would your last meal be?

Vegetable Fried Rice.

What was the first concert you went to?

When I was in 1st grade I went to an N’SYNC concert with my mom. I remember I was wearing a leopard print outfit {matching skirt and shirt} and I was falling asleep before the concert even started. – I have always been more of a morning person.

What’s your biggest guilty pleasure?

Chips and guacamole.

When you’ve had a long day how do you de-stress?

Relaxing on the couch, watching some mindless reality tv shows, or HGTV.

Favorite color?

Depends on the day.

Favorite drink?

A good crafty cocktail. A spicy Tito’s Moscow Mule or anything with tequila! Non-alcoholic would be a San Pellegrino- Sparkling Pomegranate & Orange.

What three things are always in your grocery cart?

Eggs, almond milk, GF bread.

Beauty products you can’t live without?

Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer– It’s light weight, natural, and keeps my skin moisturized.

Best movie quote ever?

Not a quote but the entire scene of Bridesmaids when Kristen Wiig is on the plane trying to get up to first class with the rest of her friends.

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

I love to scrapbook.

Do you do any other forms of workouts?

TRX and Trampoline!
