It’s a marriage of fashion and function when it comes to our staff’s taste in footwear. Whether coming or going to the saddle room our instructors and Gritty Babes always look fly and fit. We asked them to share their favorite sneakers that get them from both the street to the gym and sometimes even to that after party.

Here’s what they had to say:

Without a doubt, Nike’s were the leader in staff favorite. Instructors, Leigh and Nicci both chose the Nike Free Flyknits as their trainer of choice.

Leigh is fond of the Flynit because: “you don’t have to wear socks because the liner is washable, and I don’t have to lace them.”

Another Nike devotee is our Gritty Babe Zoe:

I’ve worn Nike Pegasus since running High School cross-country and track. Love them!!

Another die-hard runner, Cassie Piasecki, says: “I will ONLY run in Newton runners and ONLY with Feetures socks.”

But it’s her Golden Goose trainer collection that we are all dying for {and secretly hoping she’ll Craigslist to one of us soon.}

“I have this thing for Golden Goose trainers. Perfect for before and after.”

Allie Brown pledges her allegiance to Adidas.  She wears the Ultra Boost Running Shoe, “I love em!”

Our Kaitlin Honeycutt can throw down some big, thundering weights around in the gym. She needs an equally bad-ass shoe.

“For training I love, love, loveeeeeee the Nike Metcon, otherwise I’m in Vans or spin shoes.”

Sticking with an oldie, but goodie, instructor Dani keeps things simple and classic:

I have yet to find a “fitness shoe” that I like – so I stick with the OG Skate shoe….Vans SK8-hi. I don’t run though so I am probably a bad source 😉 But skating is a sport right? And dancing around the spin room?

Gritty Babe Marisa does a hard sell for us on checking out the new Nike Juvenate:

I’m a Nike whore, and these are my new fave shoes, {they’re a} good everyday shoe not for working out….comfortable standing for hours AND running around town which I feel like a lot of shoes are either/ or. They fit easily in bags, are lightweight, and gray sneakers are kinda hard to find. This color is perfect. . I literally wear nothing else so these were the perfect fit.

According to instructor Rebecca, the Apollo Mocs from Native Shoes are “rad.” We concur and we also think the company Native Shoes is RAD because none of their shoes contain animal by-products, and are packaged and shipped using recyclable material.

So now YOUR turn Gritties! Tell us what are YOUR favorite sneakers these days?
