We are bouncing with spring fever here at Grit Cycle!

We couldn’t be happier to announce Big Brothers and Sisters of Orange County  as our charity of the month for April.

Big Brothers and Sisters of Orange County believes in giving all kids the opportunity to succeed in life and live up to their full potential.

Big Brother and Sisters of Orange County provides one to one relationships for children {aka littles} with mentors/adults {aka bigs} to facilitate this potential and success.

A “big” dedicates a few hours each month of guidance, support, and friendship to their “little” for goal setting, mentorship and other positive activities.

The program works.

83% of littles have a better attitude toward school, 71% report an improved academic performance, 89% report a higher self esteem, 98% graduate on time, 90% enroll in college, and 75% are more likely to obtain a bachelor’s degree. Most of these children and young adults face some sort of adversity; 55% have been exposed to abuse, violence or neglect, 60% have parents who did not complete high school, and 31% have an incarcerated parent.

We, at GritCycle, are grateful to partner with such an outstanding organization. You, too can partner with us by donating and riding in our Karma Rides this month:
Tuesday April 12th 4:15pm with Kelli
Wednesday April 20th 12pm with Kelli

It is $15 to book your bike, but we are taking donations all month long at the front desk.
